Unfolding Adventures from Amsterdam to Iceland: Meeting Kindred Spirits Like a Crocodile Dundee-Like American and David Wolfe
When my dear friend Laura couldn’t make it to a seminar by health guru David Wolfe, she offered me her ticket. I accepted without hesitation.
Have you ever felt a mysterious connection with kindred spirits who cross your path in places that seem meant to be given to you?
As I entered the hallway before the auditorium, I noticed a man with curly hair and a headband. It was David Wolfe, exuding a strong presence and aura even before I saw his face. Sensing my gaze, he turned around, and our eyes met. He nodded gently, and I smiled and nodded back. It was as if we had an unspoken connection.
The seminar was about to begin, so I made my way into the auditorium to find a seat. David Wolfe’s engaging and refreshing seminar; his charisma was undeniable. He shared his controversial world views and even invited a few audience members to share their thoughts.
During the break, I wandered around the stalls where David Wolfe’s supplements were being sold. With a broken clavicle bone, I was navigating the space with my arm in a sling. While examining some minerals, I encountered a Crocodile Dundee-like dude with a dazzling, fake white smile.
- I quipped, “Gosh, what a white and bright smile you have, man. It’s like a beacon! More dazzling than the minerals. Clever sales strategy.”
- He laughed heartily and replied, “You have a lovely smile too. I love how your eyes squint with it. My teeth? They’re fake.”
- I chuckled, “I figured. Do you sell sunglasses? I need them just to look at you, or I might go blind.”
- He burst into another bout of lavish laughter and said, “Haha…I really, really like you! What’s your name?”
- I said “Cham. It’s spelled Tram, but you don’t pronounce the R.”
- “Charm?” he replied and laughed.
- I gave a playful wink and asked, “And you?”
- “Richard, but call me Treasure.”
- I giggled, “Sure, Trrreasure, sparkly gemstone you are.”
He laughed and began narrating how he was lured into shaving off his real teeth and getting these fake white ones at a dodgy clinic in Thailand.
We couldn’t stop having banter about the minerals, why everything was the “BEST ever,” and how charcoal was the new fad, a must-have. I was swinging my other arm that wasn’t in a sling around, and we couldn’t stop laughing. I asked for advice on healing my clavicle bone, which hadn’t grown back together for almost a year—a medical condition known as non-union. A young woman, Krystina, with a lovely supportive energy then offered to help with some awesome device.
The seminar resumed, and David gave me the chance to share my thoughts. He looked at me with a genuinely interested, fierce gaze and nodded in agreement, as if he really valued my answer. I don’t exactly remember what my answer was, but it must have made an impression.
A young woman named Maike approached me and said, “My boyfriend could help you with your problem,” adding that I had a presence about me. Her compliment came unexpectedly, and I wasn’t quick enough to return one.
After the seminar ended, a man from the audience came up to me to shake my hand and thank me for being so authentic. He seemed moved, and I wasn’t used to such reactions, but I nodded and said, “You’re welcome,” and gave him a compliment back.
Then, a series of unexpected adventures and life changing experiences unfolded, one after the other, for weeks on end….

Treasure, the Crocodile Dundee lookalike whose real name is Richard, would later become a guest at my house for two weeks, using my kitchen as his hash chocolate laboratory. He used it to cope with his chronic pain. We spent nights with Mr. Rossman, the Amsterdam “Plant” Hippie Medicine Man, engaged in philosophical talks while lounging on pillows and swinging in a massive hippie apartment adorned with gemstones and plants. We went on a hugging tour in Iceland, were unexpectedly interrogated for hours by the Icelandic border patrol on suspicion of drug trafficking (for reasons not as obvious as one might think), sang in the car, got lost on the rough roads of Iceland in the middle of nowhere, shed tears about our past pains, and went from hot spring to hot spring with David, making crazy GoPro videos—clips that I unfortunately lost.
* I met David Avocado Wolfe in 2017, and together we cherished our dear friend, Richard Chisholm aka Caneman or Treasure. Sadly, we lost Richard to cancer in 2021. May you rest in peace, my friend. During an Ayahuasca session, May 2024, I heard Richard’s voice, which finally gave me the nudge to start writing—a passion I’ve contemplated for years. This series of blogs is dedicated to his memory.
The details of my adventures are too extensive to blog about, so I plan to publish them in my upcoming book Spiritual Springroll: Finger Food for the Soul
In the next related blogs, I’ll talk about:
